When will Pope Leo XIV visit Peru?
The Holy See officially announced an Apostolic Journey through Uruguay, Argentina and Peru from November 6 to 17. The Peruvian stage will run from November 11 to 17 and include Lima, Chiclayo, Cusco and Pucallpa.
The announcement states that the program will be released later. Until then, dates or times reported specifically for Cusco should be treated as tentative.
What day will the Pope be in Cusco?
As of this update, the Vatican has not published the date or schedule for Cusco. If your trip falls between November 11 and 17, choose flexible bookings and avoid tight connections between flights, trains and full-day tours.
Sacsayhuamán and the papal visit: what is confirmed?
An advance commission inspected the Sacsayhuamán esplanade on August 27 as part of local preparations. It also visited Cusco Cathedral and the image of the Lord of the Earthquakes. Andina's report confirms the inspection.
The site is being considered for a large religious event, but the venue, capacity, access and schedule are still pending. It is therefore too early to state that a papal Mass will definitely be held at Sacsayhuamán.
