  Day 1: Cusco – Vinicunca – Cusco Cusco → Vinicunca → Cusco

  For adventurers looking for adrenaline without missing one of the planet’s most photographed Andean landscapes, this quad bike alternative turns the classic route into pure action. Leaving Cusco at 05:00, you ride your own ATV through high-Andean communities, ravines and rural trails to the base of Vinicunca, Rainbow Mountain, formed by mineral sediments that painted the slopes pink, ochre, turquoise and lavender over millions of years.
  
  From there, a short walk takes you to the main viewpoint at 5,200 metres above sea level, where the landscape unfolds in all its splendour beside snow-capped Ausangate, a sacred apu in the Andean worldview. We then return to Cusco, arriving at approximately 17:00.
