  Day 1: Cusco – Tipon – Pikillacta – Andahuaylillas – Cusco Cusco → Tipon → Pikillacta → Andahuaylillas → Cusco

  Less well known than the Sacred Valley but equally fascinating, Cusco’s South Valley preserves some of the Inca Empire’s most impressive temples and archaeological sites. Departing at 08:00, you visit Tipón, a system of terraces and irrigation channels considered a masterpiece of Inca hydraulic engineering, followed by Piquillacta, a vast pre-Inca citadel of the Wari culture with more than 700 buildings. The final stop is Andahuaylillas, whose colonial church houses frescoes and gold leaf that earned it the nickname Sistine Chapel of the Americas.
  
  The tour ends with the return to Cusco around 14:00, revealing the less touristy but deeply authentic side of rural Cusco.
