DETAILED ITINERARY We will begin our adventure with a trip of approximately two hours to the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, located at 4,300 meters above sea level. During the journey, we will pass through the picturesque town of Chiguata, where we will appreciate the pre-Inca terraces still in use, cultivating crops such as quinoa, alfalfa, corn, potatoes, carrots, and beans. Upon entering the reserve, we will be amazed by the only queñual forest in the region. We will continue to Laguna Salinas, where the landscape is framed by the majestic Misti, Chachani, Pichu Pichu, and the active Ubinas volcanoes. In its waters, we will observe various species of flamingos, vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas, as well as Andean birds such as the Andean goose and the Andean duck. We'll take a hike through the salt flats, where we'll witness the locals extracting salt and borate. We'll also visit the Lojen volcano and its hot springs, giving us a chance to relax and enjoy the surroundings. After a delicious lunch in the area, we'll return to Arequipa, with an estimated arrival time of 5:00 p.m.
